Del Amo Motorsports of South Bay Honda Dealer Models
All it takes is a quick glance down today’s lineup of Honda’s performance products to note components and features that were first bred in competition: the Honda Progressive Steering Damper (HPSD) on our CRF motocross racers; Honda Electronic Steering Damper (HESD) on the CBR 600RR and CBR1000RR; MotoGP-derived Unit-Pro Link Suspension; Programmable Fuel Injection (PGM-FI); Unicam® cylinder head construction; and Hollow Fine Die Cast frame design, just to name a few. Today, Honda’s technology continues to lead the industry with our truly unique brand of high-quality, high-performance powersports products.
Honda products are actively involved in many environmental rescue missions. One mission we are particularly proud of is the use of our Honda ATVs to help the single most endangered species of sea turtle. Joining a cooperative effort by the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service and the government of Mexico, Honda ATVs to patrol beaches in South Padre Island, Texas, and more than 100 miles of remote beach in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. Project team members comb the beaches for nesting turtles, mark the sites, tag turtles, and collect eggs and relocate them to a protected area away from poachers, both human and animal.
There’s more to riding safely and having fun than simply how we engineer our machines. And while starting off with the best-built and safest motorcycles, ATVs, scooters or PWC in the industry obviously already puts you a step or two ahead, the concept of learning to ride safely and responsibly is equally imperative. The Gold Wing’s Airbag System, arguably the biggest breakthrough in motorcycle safety in decades, if not ever. The first of its kind on a production motorcycle, the Honda Airbag deploys from atop the fuel tank and helps protect the rider from frontal (or head-on) impacts.
